Diane Overmyer works as a full time oil painter. She is passionate about plein air painting (painting outdoors on location) and she also enjoys working her studio during the winter months. She received her training at Indiana University South Bend, through private workshops and various mentors, including Alan Larkin and Ron Monsma. Diane began Michiana Plein Air Painters in the spring of 2012, and has been an active member of Indiana Plein Air Painters Association since 2005. She teaches oil painting through workshops. Her work can be found at a number of professional galleries in Indiana and Ohio. She has participated in over 50 juried art exhibits and received numerous awards, including Best of Show with IPAPA and the Elkhart Art League and awards at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, the Midwest Museum of American Art, the Box Factory for the Arts and in other competitions. Other artist associations that she has been accepted into include: Oil Painters of America, The Hoosier Salon, and the Indiana Artists Club.
